Lawson Screen & Digital Products, St. Louis, will host a free open house on Nov. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at its Atlanta facility.
The free event will include a class and demonstrations on screen and direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, as well as a special session on CorelDRAW by Clay Barbera, Action Illustrated’s education director.
Lawson’s open house will feature information on how to improve screen-print and DTG quality, produce better-looking shirts, increase production and save money on supplies. Special pricing will be available on equipment and supplies for those in attendance.
The CorelDRAW class is intended to maximize attendees’ graphic abilities. This 90-minute class will outline many of the Corel tools used to produce quality production graphics for imprinters. Beginning at an entry-level pace, and ending with output options and print techniques, this free class will walk through classic art steps in Corel. Drawing tools, groups, layers, print colors and bitmap-to-vector tracing will be covered in depth.
As a relaxed class, there will be time for specific questions, and applicable examples as well. Optional Corel add-ons and software specifically designed to make Corel many times easier for those in the imprinting industry also will be demonstrated.
Barbera has been a certified Corel trainer, specializing in the imprinting industry, since 2005. He is proficient in all the necessary art processes and focuses his design classes to the individuals who attend. His courses and concepts are proven to help build business and feature revenue-growing ideas and timeless proven techniques, according to the company.
The open house also will include demonstrations on artwork, screen preparation, manual and automatic screen-printing presses, maximizing production on conveyor dryers for plastisol and water-based ink, DTG printing and pretreating, computer-to-screen (CTS) and vinyl-cutting applications. — J.L.
