High Point, North Carolina—Arcus Printers has unveiled its latest innovation: Instant Peel DTF Transfers.
These groundbreaking transfers are engineered to address the common challenges faced with traditional cold and hot peel transfers, providing decorators with a faster, more efficient, and more reliable solution.
Arcus Printers’ new Instant Peel DTF Transfers are designed to revolutionize the transfer process by combining the best aspects of cold and hot peel methods while eliminating their drawbacks. These transfers peel off in one to three seconds, dramatically increasing production times and efficiency.
“Our Instant Peel DTF Transfers address the pain points decorators have faced with cold and hot peel methods,” says Rick Marcelo, Director of Technology at Axiom America, the parent company of Arcus Printers. “We’ve combined speed, quality, and durability in a single product, allowing decorators to achieve faster production times without sacrificing the integrity of their designs.”
Key Features of Instant Peel DTF Transfers:
• Rapid Peeling: With a fast-release time of one to three seconds, decorators can significantly reduce production time, making Instant Peel DTF Transfers ideal for high-volume orders and quick turnarounds. Many users also prefer a two-press method. The first press liquefies the powder adhesive, ensuring proper adhesion to the garment. The second press, typically done with a slip sheet, helps the ink settle deeper into the fabric fibers, resulting in a smoother, softer hand feel.
• Enhanced Color Vibrancy: Instant Peel DTF Transfers ensure excellent color vibrancy and clarity, rivaling the best cold peel transfers without the extended wait time.
• Durability: These transfers are designed to last 35 to 40 washes, meeting industry standards for washability and ensuring long-lasting prints that withstand wear and tear.
• Abrasion Resistance: The advanced formula offers superior resistance to abrasion, ensuring that designs remain intact and vibrant over time.
• Double-Sided Antistatic Coating: The unique double-sided antistatic coating prevents the transfer from buckling under the heat press, providing a smooth, clean peel every time.
• Superior Adhesion: Unlike other fast peels that may compromise quality, Instant Peel DTF Transfers solidify the adhesive immediately upon peeling, ensuring a solid bond with the garment and minimizing the risk of peeling or lifting.
The Limitations of Traditional Cold and Hot Peel Transfers
Cold Peel Transfers: While known for producing sharp, detailed prints and offering stable adhesion, cold peel transfers can be time-consuming. Decorators often have to wait for the transfer to cool before peeling, which slows production, especially for bulk orders or quick turnarounds. Additionally, cold peel transfers are prone to burning at high temperatures, posing a risk during the transfer process. Some decorators use a two-press method: The first press adheres to the design, while the second press helps the ink settle deeper into the fabric for a smoother finish. However, this additional step can significantly increase production time.
Hot Peel Transfers: While quick to peel, hot peel transfers aren’t necessarily faster to apply. One of the main challenges the industry sees is a lack of color vibrancy — these transfers can look dull compared to cold peel film. Additionally, they may lift off the garment if not pressed at a high enough temperature. On the other hand, if pressed for too long, they can reattach to the transfer paper, leading to inconsistencies in the final product. The water-based adhesive layer in hot peel transfers may also not hold up from excess washings, and poor-quality films often suffer from poor ink absorption, causing smaller letters or fine details to peel.
