AnaJet, Tustin, Calif., a Ricoh company, has partnered with Kothari Info-Tech, Surat, India, to release Kothari Print Pro, a new raster image processor (RIP) software configured exclusively for Ricoh DTG machines.

All Ricoh DTG printers come with a free license for AnaRIP software, which provides RIP functionality suitable for many applications; however, the new software now provides a premium option with more advanced capabilities to accommodate power users’ needs.

While processing a printable image, Kothari Print Pro optimizes ink usage for black-garment printing by using a patented process that takes the garment’s color into account. When a set of standard sample images were tested using “White Highlight” mode with default settings, Kothari Print Pro reduced average ink costs of printing on a black T-shirt print by more than 44% when compared to AnaRIP software, according to the companies.
The RIP software supplies more print profiles that are better optimized for a wider range of garment colors and types, also including fine detail and subtle color gradations, resulting in prints that display richer, brighter and more accurate color. It also provides convenient options for directly editing the RIP image.
