Brother Enters Wide-Format Latex Segment with Latest Launch
Bridgewater, New Jersey—Brother International Corporation will be entering the signage market with the all-new WF1-L640 64-inch latex wide-format printer.
FULL STORYBrother DTG, a division of Brother Intl. Corp., Bridgewater, N.J., now provides barcoding capabilities, available via Linx Production software.
The Linx program allows users to create and track barcodes of every order from start to finish. Job barcodes are scanned at each station to track the progress of an order, including in the art department, at the Synergy pretreatment phase, at the printer, at the FireFly dryer and at quality control. It also maps an order’s artwork through placement and size specification.
Mistakes can be avoided because the operator does not have to enter settings, according to the company. Productivity can be increased due to the operator focusing on loading and unloading the machine instead of reviewing and inputting settings for each order.
Additionally, the software sorts orders by product type for inventory management. After job completion, Linx then generates a shipping label through online shipping software and alerts customers with tracking information. — D.S.
