Cotswold Industries, New York, introduces Fusible Fleece, an alternative for projects that require batting.
The 3.2-ounce material is denser than batting, but offers better loft, dimension and durability, according to the company. Ideal for projects such as quilts, placemats, wall hangings, vests and jackets, it can be washed, dry-cleaned and run through the dryer without damage.
With a fusible backing that is activated at 300°F, Fusible Fleece stays in place during quilting or sewing. The shiny, rough side is fused to the reverse side of the fabric with a fleece cloth to protect fleece fibers.
