After fielding applications from companies around the world, the Oeko-Tex organization named Madeira, Laconia, N.H., its company of the month for October.
According to Oeko-Tex, its Company of the Month campaign is intended to highlight the many outstanding operations of the textile and clothing industry that distinguish themselves by offering human ecologically safe products and sustainable production conditions.
If a company is Oeko-Tex certified and shows a special commitment in the areas of sustainability and social responsibility, it qualifies as an applicant. Madeira has earned a Class I certification for all of its major thread families. Oeko-Tex determined that from the manufacturing process to finished embroidery thread, Madeira’s threads are judged to be absolutely safe for use on every item, from factory to finished product.
