BELLA+CANVAS, Los Angeles, has introduced the EcoMax Tee, a new garment made entirely from recycled materials.

By combining pre-consumer scraps of 100-percent Airlume combed ring-spun cotton, from BELLA’s Los Angeles cutting facility, with dope-dyed polyester from recycled post-consumer PET bottles, the company was able to knit a 35-percent Airlume combed ring-spun cotton and 65-percent polyester fabric that offers comfort and sustainable quality.

More than a tee, the EcoMax is about repurposing waste into something new, rethinking the way BELLA makes things, and re-establishing the consumer’s relationship with what they wear, while challenging the industry status quo to create a canvas with care for our planet and our people, according to the company.

The EcoMax Tee is available in black, navy and white. As with all BELLA garments, this commitment is built upon a WRAP-certified supply chain, adhering to the company’s rigorous Code of Conduct that exceeds all standards set forth by the Fair Labor Association (FLA).

The premium blanks brand believes that feeling great in their canvas is much more than experiencing the incredibly soft fabric on your skin. It means feeling great about where that fabric came from in the first place and how it was crafted into the very garment you wear. The new EcoMax Tee is a living embodiment of this belief. Specifically, scrap Airlume cotton from a single 3001 provides enough recycled cotton for roughly two EcoMax Tees. Further, roughly seven PET bottles are kept out of the landfill with every EcoMax Tee produced. With the EcoMax Tee, consumers can truly wear their values without sacrificing comfort or style.
