FULL STORYRyonet Corp., Vancouver, Wash., has released January and February 2018 dates for its Screen Print Experience classes, which offer attendees an opportunity to start screen printing under the guidance of industry veterans in a real shop.
These two-day sessions are held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and lunch is provided. Attendees will experience first hand every step of the process, from creating artwork to catching a shirt as it comes off the dryer. In addition to instruction, participants will receive a Ryonet screen-printing class book. Admission also includes a variety of shirts for printing, including tri-blends, 100% cotton, and polyester, provided by manufacturers such as BELLA+CANVAS, Next Level Apparel, Hanes and JERZEES.
The class begins with pre-press and dark-room topics, including basic artwork and color separations; film-output options; choosing an emulsion and coating a practice screen; using a preregistration template; burning a screen; screen-washout techniques; related software programs; and cleanup.
The curriculum then shifts to hands-on printing using plastisol, water-based and specialty inks for spot-color, four-color process, simulated process and foil applications.
