Press & Tear is a needle-friendly, pressure-sensitive adhesive tearaway stabilizer offered by Cotswold Industries. It allows embroidery on hard-to-hoop items, rarely leaving residue on needles. It is ideal for CD cases, heavy towels or blankets, collars and cuffs, socks and heavy jackets. The stabilizer is a 1.5-ounce, dense, wet-laid, non-directional, non-woven tearaway that contains needle lubricants to promote needle glide and reduce sticky buildup. It tears away cleanly and leaves no “fuzzies” behind, according to the company. If more support is needed, an extra layer of regular tearaway can be “floated” underneath the stitching area.
