B-Unlimited, Fayetteville, Ark., is partnering with industry experts to host the second-annual ORIGINS: A Journey in Water-Based Printing event, to be held July 10-12.
This hands-on academy offers screen-printing shops from across the nation the opportunity to learn from, and practice with, international water-based printing experts. Partners include Magna Colours, GSG, M&R, BELLA+CANVAS, Newman Roller Frames, Kiwo and Impressions.
Water-based inks and their byproducts are not only fully biodegradable, but they also contain fewer toxic chemicals, making them safer for the environment and the people who work with them, and wear products embellished with them.
ORIGINS offers customized workshops taught by longtime industry leaders on-site at B-Unlimited, Arkansas’s largest-capacity screen-printing shop that primarily uses water-based inks. Attendees can experiment with different inks and garments at the production facility. Participants will be provided with meals, entertainment, giveaways and discounts valued at more than $4,000 per shop.
The event’s goal is to help attendees understand how to transition to water-based printing and reduce the use of plastic products in the apparel industry, according to the company. Interested shops can apply online.
