Epson America Inc., Long Beach, Calif., recently announced that its SureColor F6200 dye-sublimation printer was selected as a winner in the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA) 2018 Product of the Year Awards.
“Each year the competition gets stiffer as printing technologies advance and dye sublimation becomes more commonly used within the printing industry,” says Tim Check, senior product manager of professional imaging at Epson America. “The SureColor F6200, when combined with Epson UltraChrome DS ink technology and the new Epson DS Transfer Photo Paper, is a full dye-sublimation solution optimized for rigid photo applications. We are delighted that the device and output quality was notable among some of the industry’s highest quality manufacturers.”
Epson created the printer using its new solution designed for creating dye-sublimation photo panels and other rigid substrates. The DS Transfer Photo Paper, a high-quality, lightweight dye-sublimation transfer paper, combined with the SureColor F6200 dye-sublimation printer, UltraChromeDS inks and Wasatch RIP support, creates a complete solution designed to produce rigid photos with advanced print quality and vibrant images with minimal grain, and optimal consistency and reliability, according to the company.
This is Epson’s third consecutive year receiving the Product of the Year award in the “Roll-to-Roll Dye-Sublimation on Metal” category. Epson’s complete line of dye-sublimation solutions, including the winning SureColor F6200 printer and the DS Transfer Photo Paper, will be shown in Epson’s SGIA booth (1414). All entries will be on display in the Golden Image Gallery at the 2018 SGIA Expo, to be held Oct. 18-20 in Las Vegas. — D.S.
