HanesBrands Inc., Winston-Salem, N.C., has donated three tractor-trailer loads of underwear and fleece apparel to victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Through a partnership with Fashion Delivers, a New York-based nonprofit organization that distributes apparel and home furnishings to victims of natural disasters, the company will distribute the $1 million worth of donated apparel across the affected region. HanesBrands has partnered with Fashion Delivers in the past, following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the 2011 tsunami and earthquake in Japan, and the 2011 tornadoes in the Midwest and Southeast United States.
“Hanes and its employees offer their deepest sympathy to those whose lives have been impacted as a result of Sandy,” says Chris Fox, vice president of corporate social responsibility for HanesBrands. “We are working diligently to deploy much-needed clothing essentials to individuals and families in need on the East Coast and beyond.”
