Hanesbrands Inks Deal for New Distribution Center

Hanesbrands, Winston-Salem, N.C., has signed a lease at a High Point, N.C., distribution center to expand its Champion brand.

Hanesbrands spokeswoman Carole Crosslin told Triad Business Journal the company has signed a lease at 4190 Eagle Hill Drive, a 340,000-square-foot facility formerly occupied by Ralph Lauren.

The facility is expected to be operational by January and will employ about 200 new hires, according to the company.

“As we reported in third quarter, Champion sales growth was broad-based, increasing across channels, including sporting-goods retailers, mid-tier department stores, college bookstores, mass merchants, online and company-owned stores,” Crosslin says.

In 2018, the company opened its first United States Champion-branded stores in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Boston. Champion also recently partnered with the Harlem Globetrotters, becoming the team’s official uniform and apparel supplier. —D.S.
