Imprinted Sportswear Industry Veteran McLeod Passes Away

Brian McLeod, former general manager at Stahls’, Sterling Heights Mich., passed away May 17 in Grosse Pointe, Mich.

McLeod was 69 years old. He spent his career in the decorated-apparel, sporting-goods, garment-manufacturing and licensed-product industries in North America. He first joined the Stahls’ team in 1988 as its U.S. vice president of sales and marketing. In 1996, he worked for Roland DGA, holding several upper-management positions, including vice president of corporate marketing and managing director of the company’s color products division.

In 2008, he returned to Stahls’ as its general manager. McLeod also was instrumental in helping Stahls’ launch its digital decorating services and opening GroupeSTAHL West, according to the company.

“Brian was a cherished team member and friend, who was always generous with his time and advice,” says Ted Stahl, executive chairman, GroupeSTAHL. “He always led us forward with valued input and, more importantly, he was known for his thoughtfulness and good humor. He was well-loved by colleagues and industry members around the world.”

McLeod is survived by his wife, Sally, and daughter, Samantha. Services will take place June 1 in Grosse Pointe. — D.S.
