Mount Vernon Expands Softening Finish Offering

Published: December 10, 2012

Mount Vernon Mills, Mauldin, S.C., is now offering its AMSOFT finish on all of its flame-resistant fabrics.

The AMSOFT finish is applied to Mount Vernon Flame Resistant (FR) fabrics using the Biancalani AIRO 24 machine, which uses a chemical-free softening process to provide a distinct, naturally soft hand and improved drape to flame-resistant fabrics, according to the company.

Now, the finish can be applied to the company’s selection of flame-resistant protective fabrics in the following six collections: AMTEX C100 (100% cotton), AMTEX PLUS (88% cotton/12% nylon blend), RESILIENCE (80% cotton/20% Nomex blend), RESILIENCE TRIO (cotton/Nomex/nylon blend), PHOENIX FR (flame-resistant denim) and MY•FR (the company’s custom-fabric program).
