Mount Vernon Mills Expands Flame-Resistant Division

Mount Vernon Mills, Mauldin, S.C., recently created three new roles as part of the expansion of its flame-resistant (FR) division.

The company has hired oMelanie Sumner as development manager of protective specialty fabrics; Ernie Terrell as FR technical specialist; and Craig Tutterow as technical director of FR fabrics.

In her new position, Sumner will be responsible for research and development of technical and non-technical yarns, and chemistry. She will work to create new fabrics and finishes. Terrell will concentrate on sales in the United States, with a focus on the Gulf Coast at the end-user level. Tutterow will provide increased technical development and control in the FR fabrics division.
