In a move to spread the word about the company’s first-ever inkjet user conference, ImagiNATION, Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, Calif., has secured the licensing rights for its own private nation for one day.
Effective 12 a.m. on Oct. 21, and for a 24-hour period, the Republic of Poland will be renamed “Roland,” with terms and conditions outlined in a 900-page legally binding agreement between the two entities. Pursuant to this unprecedented contract, all official venues, communications and national assets of the Polish government will be impacted very positively, according to the company.
“This celebration of everything Roland in Poland is long overdue,” said Rick Scrimger, president of Roland DGA. “The synergy between our two communities is undeniable, and the excitement over their imminent union contagious. Not only do we both enjoy a long history of innovation and creativity, but – let’s face it – we rhyme.”
