IRVINE, Calif.—Roland DGA Corporation has announced the North American launch of its VersaOBJECT LO-640-F3, a 64-inch UV flatbed printer designed to increase productivity while maintaining high image quality for direct-to-object and rigid substrate printing.

Engineered for high-volume environments, the LO-640-F3 can print at speeds up to 332 square feet per hour, approximately three times faster than Roland DG’s previous 64-inch flatbed model. That jump in output is paired with a design focused on efficiency, allowing shops to move more jobs through production without sacrificing detail or consistency.

Built for Speed, Without Sacrificing Quality

At the core of the LO-640-F3 is a combination of dual high-precision printheads and high-power UV-LED lamps, enabling crisp detail, smooth gradations and reliable color even at higher speeds.

“This is truly an ideal device for customers who want to produce high-quality, customized decorations with large production volumes,” said Ryugo Nimura, president of Roland DG’s Global Sales and Marketing Division.

For decorators and print providers, that balance between speed and quality is critical, particularly as demand grows for shorter turnaround times and more complex customization.

Expanding What Shops Can Print and On What

The LO-640-F3 is designed to print directly onto a wide range of substrates, from plastics and wood to leather, glass and metal when paired with primer. Its ability to handle objects up to 9.5 inches thick and weighing more than 220 pounds opens the door to a broad mix of applications.

This versatility allows businesses to move beyond traditional flat graphics into higher-value work such as customized promotional products, interior décor pieces, packaging prototypes and industrial components. It also supports printing on irregular or curved surfaces, further expanding the types of jobs shops can take on.

Color, Texture and Special Effects

The printer supports EUV5 inks in CMYK plus Orange and Red, along with White, Clear and Primer. Together, these options provide a wide color gamut, improved brand color accuracy and the ability to print on dark or transparent materials using high-opacity white.

Clear ink adds another layer of capability, allowing decorators to create gloss or matte finishes and even simulated embossing effects. For shops focused on premium customization, these types of finishes can help differentiate products and increase perceived value.

Workflow Tools Designed for Modern Production

Roland DG has paired the LO-640-F3 with its latest VersaWorks 7 RIP software, offering improved processing speed and compatibility with both macOS and Windows systems.

The printer also integrates with Roland DG Connect, a cloud-based platform that helps users monitor performance, manage devices and optimize workflows. PrintAutoMate further supports high-mix, low-volume production, allowing shops to handle personalized jobs more efficiently without adding complexity.

Built for a Changing Print Landscape

According to Roland DGA, the LO-640-F3 is well suited for production sign shops, promotional product manufacturers, packaging prototype labs and industrial decorators—segments that continue to demand faster output and greater flexibility.

“These qualities make this amazing flatbed an excellent choice for businesses that want to optimize productivity, shorten delivery times, reduce costs and increase profitability,” said Brian Brooks, Roland DGA’s director of product management.

Why It Matters for Decorators

As customization continues to expand across apparel, promotional products and industrial markets, printers capable of handling high-mix, low-volume workflows are becoming increasingly important.

The LO-640-F3 reflects a broader shift toward faster production, expanded material compatibility and direct-to-object printing—giving decorators more ways to diversify their offerings and capture new revenue streams beyond garments.
