SanMar Expands Brand-Management Team

Published: February 6, 2019

SanMar, Issaquah, Wash., announced additions and updates to its brand-management leadership team.

Janine Oates has joined the SanMar team as design director and Teak Hernandez is the new director for its athletic brands. Additionally, Rob Crowley has been promoted to senior director of basic brands.

Oates has a broad background within the product-creation process, including design, technical design and development. As design director, she will oversee SanMar’s creative product team.

Hernandez joins SanMar from adidas, and he’ll work with the merchandising team to drive the vision for SanMar’s athletic brands, including Sport-Tek, OGIO and New Era.

In Crowley’s new role, he will create a strategic vision for the company’s industry brand partners and in-house brands, including Port & Company and District.

“As we strive to bring even more compelling product to our market, we are excited to grow our team to ensure we are passionately focused on customer and end-user needs,” says Shelley Renning, vice president of brand management at SanMar. “Bringing in talent like Janine and Teak, while watching those already within the SanMar family, like Rob, take on new challenges only helps to provide new perspectives to our design and merchandising stories. It is a privilege to collaborate with merchandisers and designers to create the vision and help products come to life.” — D.S.
