SanMar Corp., Issaquah, Wash., has announced Steve Cuthbert has been named its new vice president of sales.

Cuthbert’s career in the outdoor textile industry spans 25 years. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales for The North Face. In the eight years at the company, Cuthbert bolstered its worldwide brand and built strong relationships with suppliers and retailers across the industry, according to the company. Prior, he spent 15 years with Polartec where he served as director of sales.

“I’ve accomplished a lot in my career but there aren’t many times when you can do something different with a company that you admire,” says Cuthbert. “I am so excited for this opportunity—to be a part of such a strong team and to be the best resource possible to continue the success they have had.”

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Cuthbert studied textile engineering at Philadelphia University and earned his master’s degree in textile technology at the Institute of Textile Technology.

“My experience working with Steve has been that he puts partnerships and relationships first, has a very optimistic outlook and has a track record of success that aligns with SanMar’s culture,” says Jeremy Lott, president of SanMar. “We welcome his thoughtful perspective and know he will confidently lead our sales team during this pivotal time.”

With such a strong background in building great partnerships across industries, Cuthbert brings an important perspective to SanMar’s team, helping to guide the team’s strategic point of view, according to the company.

“I am honored to join a team that leads with its values and invests intentionally in relationships,” Cuthbert says. “SanMar’s north star is ‘Be nice and tell the truth’—a guiding principle I can get behind on day one.” — D.S.
