SGIA, Fairfax, Va., recently announced that its member company, PolyOne Corp., Kennesaw, Ga., has become a Silver Patron of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), a nonprofit organization that provides sustainability certification in the printing industry.

PolyOne is a specialized polymer materials, services and solutions provider. By supporting SGP, PolyOne upholds its commitment to sustainability and is devoted to the best practices for reducing environmental impact.

“Customers want to be assured that they are using products and inks that are safe for the environment,” says Kevin Shikoluk, director of marketing and technology at PolyOne. “Wilflex inks are made with quality, safety and the environment in mind, and are formulated to meet compliance standards supported by an effective system of management controls.”

PolyOne is committed to ethical and sustainable principles and has established the PolyOne Sustainable Solutions certification to denote products or services that meet defined standards for sustainability in areas such as renewability, recycle-ability, reusability, eco-conscious composition or resource efficiency, according to the company.

“We are excited that PolyOne has chosen to be an SGP Patron within our community,” says Martine Padilla, executive director of SGP. “Their water-based non-PVC inks and their own PolyOne Sustainable Solutions product and solutions certification exemplify their commitment and sustainability leadership throughout the printing industry.”
