SGIA Member Receives SGP Certification

Published: April 25, 2013

SGIA, Fairfax, Va., recently announced that member company Visual Impressions Inc., Milwaukee, has become the 50th company to earn certification under the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP).

To achieve this certification, SGP requires a facility to set annual sustainability objectives or goals.

“It’s a game-changer, as more and more businesses want to align themselves with companies that are committed to socially responsible and environmentally sustainable programs,” says Marshall Atkinson, chief operating officer at Visual Impressions Inc. “SGP certification adds to our marketability, and demonstrates leadership in the apparel industry to both our existing and potential customers.”

In order to receive SGP certification, companies must develop a sustainability management system and integrate best management practices in materials used for production, the manufacturing process and the facility in its entirety.
