Soffe, Fayetteville, N.C., is launching a social movement, #TheUsProject, to help make social media social again.
The movement, explained in the campaign video shown above, challenges young women to share photos of themselves with their friends and family, not alone. According to the company, more than 93 million “selfies” are snapped each day, and new studies show that frequent selfie sharing leads to decreased intimacy and more shallow relationships.
“We all know that a picture is worth a thousand words,” said Paul Anderson, marketing director, Soffe. “When we share pictures of ourselves together rather than alone in a selfie, it tells a quite different, powerful story. #TheUsProject provides them with a larger platform to express their belief in the power of togetherness.”
