Sportsman Cap & Bag, Kansas City, Mo., is expanding its warehouse located in Shawnee, Kan.
The expansion is being driven by the success of the bag business, according to the company’s President Dan Saferstein. The company added 13 brands of duffle bags, totes and backpacks in 2012.
“When we launched the bags, we knew we’d need to adjust,” says Saferstein. “With the success we’re having, that adjustment is coming a little earlier than we expected, but it is a good problem to have.”
With more space and an expanded loading dock, the company will offer more on-site and ready-to-ship inventory, and will offer same-day shipping on orders received before 3 p.m. CST.
Additonally, as part of the project, the company is converting to new T5 eco-friendly lighting throughout the facility.
