Tampa, Florida-based ColDesi, a leader in custom apparel and digital decoration technologies, has announced the release of its latest new tech: the ColDesi Advanced Ink Management System (CAIMS), building on the company’s “legacy of innovation, beginning with the introduction of the White Ink Management System (WIMS) in 2005.”
According to ColDesi, CAIMS represents a “comprehensive solution for digital ink management,” featuring the company’s SMART Cartridge System, a closed, fiber optic-monitored platform that eliminates the need for disposable cartridges. The company goes on to say the system delivers real-time ink level tracking, prevents air and particle contamination, and significantly reduces ink waste, resulting in cleaner, more reliable and cost-effective operation.
Reduce clogging, extend DTF printhead life
Per the company: “The ColDesi Advanced Ink Management System is specially engineered for uninterrupted white ink operations. The system features white ink bags that support efficient ink circulation. With continuous pressure monitoring and adjustments via the white ink circulation pump, CAIMS ensures a consistent and reliable delivery of white ink to the printheads. These enhancements reduce clogging, extend printhead life, and improve print quality.”
Supporting the system is ColDesi’s “Ink Sentry Application” tech, which automates critical maintenance tasks. “Using patent-pending technology, the system effortlessly switches from dispensing ink to deploying a specially formulated flushing solution that clears agglomerated pigments and dried ink buildup from ink channels, manifolds, dampers, and more,” the company says. “This process also cleans cap tops, waste lines, and pumps, ensuring optimal system performance. During extended shutdowns, the system safely stores print heads with flush solution, leaving them ready for quick reactivation— maximizing uptime and minimizing manual effort.

At press time, the ColDesi 30H2 DTF Printer was the first of the company’s DTF printers to feature the new ColDesi Advanced Ink Management System. However, moving forward the company says its plans to integrate the system into a number of other ColDesi systems as well;, expanding its advantages across a wider range of applications.
