Econscious Apparel, Petaluma, Calif., recently announced that it will partner with Broder Bros. Co., Trevose, Pa., to distribute its line across the United States, effective January 2013.
National distribution will allow Econscious to build on its regional success by making its line accessible to a national wholesale audience, according to the company.
“This partnership marks the evolution of a long-standing and rich business relationship,” says Steve Wegner, principal for Econscious. “As companies, we share many of the same values and long-term goals — to increase the accessibility of sustainable apparel, and ultimately, to have a positive impact on the health of our planet.”
Econscious products for 2013 will include 23 environmentally friendly and durable styles, ranging from basic T-shirts to fleece, hats and bags.
“Customers have communicated to us that there’s a need not only for eco-friendly products, but also for eco-friendly brands, as well,” says Steve Valeri, vice president of marketing for Broder Bros. “The Econscious brand, more so than any other, is that strong advocate for the environment.”
