Barry Lipsett, president and CEO of Charles River Apparel, Boston, recently made good on a friendly wager with long-time customer Kevin Flynn of TBK Promotions, Chicago. The friendly wager was made based on which hometown team would win the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs: the Boston Bruins or the Chicago Blackhawks.
While traveling in the Chicago area with Dan Kramer, Charles River’s account executive for Illinois, Lipsett and Kramer watched a playoff game with distributor TBK Promotions, wagering a shipment of fresh New England lobster if the Bruins lost. However, if the Bruins made a comeback and won, TBK Promotions would send authentic Chicago pizza.
After the series, Lipsett came through on his promise and sent a truckload of lobster to Chicago in the spirit of friendly rivalry.
