DuPont Biomaterials, Wilmington, Del., recently announced new application advances for its sustainable, high-performance fiber, DuPont Sorona.
Sorona offers exceptional softness, comfort stretch and recovery, and chlorine and UV resistance in vivid color fabrics designed for easy care, according to the company. Additionally, the production of Sorona requires 30% less energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 63%, compared to the production of an equal amount of nylon.
The new fiber developments using DuPont Sorona are designed for trousers and jeans, seamless apparel, swimwear and wrinkle-release jackets.
The company showcased Sorona’s new applications at Expofil, which was held Sept. 19-21 at the Parc d’Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte in Paris.
