Hanes Branded Printwear, Winston-Salem, N.C., has launched the Hanes4Education Adopt-a-School program.
Through this program, customers can designate T-shirt, sport shirt or fleece orders to benefit a K-8 school participating in the Box Tops for Education program.
“The Hanes4Education Adopt-a-School program is a very easy way for decorators and promotional product distributors to involve all of their customers in supporting K-8 schools simply by ordering Hanes shirts,” says Andrew Verga, marketing manager for Hanes Branded Printwear. “It’s also a great way to be a hero in your community by offering local businesses, organizations and groups an opportunity to make a difference with their purchase.”
The Adopt-a-School program works within the existing Hanes4Education effort and there is no work involved for decorators or PPDs, according to the company. Each Hanes shirt ordered equals one Box Top, so if a customer orders 500 shirts for an upcoming 5K, that order would earn 500 Box Tops for a participating Box Tops K-8 school designated by the customer. The customer or school handles the paperwork, and the Box Tops automatically are credited to the school’s account.
Any customer is eligible to participate in the Hanes4Education Adopt-a-School program with a maximum order size of 5,000 shirts. Order receipts are required and must specify that Hanes shirts were ordered. Wholesaler invoices to decorators or promotional products distributors do not qualify.
“We know that elementary and middle schools across the country are struggling to make ends meet, and Box Tops for Education is a phenomenal way for them to earn much-needed cash,” Verga says. “Hanes Branded Printwear is proud to be the exclusive partner with Box Tops in the decorated apparel industry, and to provide decorators and promotional products distributors with a simple and easy way for their customers to support K-8 schools.”
