How AMB3R Built a Design-Driven Merch Studio Rooted in Community
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Lane Seven has released a new “Meet The Innovator” episode spotlighting CEO Jeremy Picker and Angelo Montiel of AMB3R, the Colorado-based merch studio recognized for retail-quality apparel design and cultural storytelling. The feature explores how the duo uses decorated apparel to strengthen identity and community—core themes resonating across today’s merch landscape.
Picker’s journey began selling merch on tour for rock bands, where he learned firsthand how apparel can unite fans and create meaningful moments. That early experience fueled his creation of AMB3R, a studio now known for bringing fashion-forward execution to small businesses, nonprofits, organizations and corporate clients.

Mexicolo: A Cultural Brand Reviving Nostalgia and Heritage Through Apparel
When Montiel joined AMB3R as art director, he infused the studio’s work with his illustration style and personal connection to Mexican culture. Together, he and Picker created Mexicolo, a brand centered on nostalgia, identity and the stories shared within Colorado’s Hispanic community.
“A lot of second or third generations don’t remember Mexico anymore, so Mexicolo is that missing puzzle piece,” Montiel explains in the episode.
Mexicolo’s recent Día de los Muertos collection, built on Lane Seven blanks, showcases the fusion of cultural tradition and contemporary merch design that defines the brand.
