Mimaki Honored with European Digital Press Association Awards

Published: June 2, 2014

Mimaki, Amsterdam, was recognized at FESPA Digital 2014, held May 20-23 in Munich, with two European Digital Press Association (EDP) awards and two nominations.

The Mimaki JFX200-2513 wide-format printer with LED curing was selected for Best Flatbed/Hybrid Printer up to €200K ($272,220 USD), and Mimaki’s KEBAB option for 360-degree direct printing on cylindrical products was named Best Multi-Purpose Object Printer.

The awards were accepted by Mike Horsten, general manager marketing of Mimaki EMEA at a special awards ceremony held during the show.

The JFX200-2513 was shown for the first time at Viscom Dusseldorf 2013. This economical, large-format flatbed UV inkjet printer can print up to 270 square feet per hour. The JFX200-2513’s compact footprint, eco-friendly LED curing and attractive price point make it ideal for businesses in the sign and display graphics industry that wish to affordably expand their range of services, according to the company.

The Mimaki KEBAB option is mounted on Mimaki’s UJF-3042HG and UJF-6042 desktop flatbed printers. Using rotary rollers, the KEBAB option rotates the object, allowing UJF-3042HG or UJF-6042 to print directly on the entire surface of the cylindrical item. The result is seamless 360-degree printing. This unique finishing capability enables high-quality, on-demand production of customized 3-D print products on everything from cans to candles with a minimum order quantity of one piece.
