Penn Emblem Co., Philadelphia, recently announced its Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) recertification as a Women’s Business Enterprise for 2014.
WBENC’s national standard of certification involves an in-depth review of the business and a site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm that the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women. Penn Emblem was first certified in 2010.
“We are very pleased to be recognized as a Women’s Business Enterprise,” says Randi Blumenthal-Joseph, president of Penn Emblem Co. “This certification raises our profile among the many companies looking to do business with diverse companies. It provides access for business opportunities with other WBENC members, which include many of the Fortune 500 companies, as well as government agencies that have active supplier diversity programs.”
