SanMar Employees Contribute to Local Charities

Published: December 2, 2013

Employees of SanMar Corp., Seattle, recently raised more than $96,000 in money, clothing and goods for seven charities.

SanMarathon events, hosted at each of the company’s seven distribution centers and its corporate office, allowed employees to run, walk or cheer to contribute to charity.

“One of our SanMar values is to make a difference,” says Olivia Thurmond, senior HR manager at SanMar. “It was inspiring to see our employees throughout the country gear up and get ready for these fundraising events. Whether it was a 5K run in the park near Seattle, a chilly couple of laps around and inside our Minnesota warehouse, or a fun morning with family near Cincinnati, our employees showed that they were determined to give back and truly make a difference.”

Additional contributions also were matched by the company in the form of clothing items and other durable goods for organizations that work closely with children and families in need.
