SFS Manufacturing Group Ltd., Luton, Bedfordshire, U.K., now offers heat press base pads made from its specially formulated silicone sponge LEV250.
The pads provide longer operating life at the temperatures experienced within heat presses and are easy to fit, according to the company. Their high-temperature adhesive backing ensures that they remain in position on the platen at temperatures up to 428°F. The sponge compound also has a heat stabilizer that provides long-term resistance to degradation.
The sponge’s uniform microcell structure provides even heat and pressure distribution across the pad’s surface to ensure the high-quality transfer of images onto fabrics or other materials, according to the company.
The LEV250 pads have radius corners and a fine-fabric surface impression on the working face. They come in three standard thicknesses, various sizes and three colors: black, red iron oxide and grey.
