The goal of the merger is to create a faster, more complete U.S.-based manufacturing platform for custom sewn and decorated products
LBU Inc., a vertically integrated U.S. manufacturer of custom sewn and decorated products, recently announced that Donray Printing, a longstanding New Jersey-based sublimation printing company, has been officially merged into LBU and will operate under the LBU umbrella.
Founded in 1986, Donray Printing has long been known as an expert in offset and digital sublimation printing, supporting a wide range of applications across apparel, soft goods and specialty products. With the merger, the entirety of Donray’s state-of-the-art printing equipment and supporting machinery will be integrated directly into LBU’s production ecosystem, significantly expanding in-house capabilities and speed to market.
“This is a big step forward for LBU and for our customers,” said Jordan Scaduto, Partner and EVP of LBU Inc. “By bringing Donray fully into LBU, we’re not just adding printing capacity, we’re bringing decades of sublimation expertise, proven processes and top-tier equipment under one roof. Combined with our cut-and-sew assembly and finishing capabilities, this truly moves us closer to being a complete one-stop shop that can move faster without sacrificing quality.”
Cutting-edge Custom Apparel Sublimation Printing
Donray’s roots reach back to its early sublimation work in New Jersey under the leadership of founder Art Ferriola, who helped introduce and grow sublimation printing in the region before launching Donray Printing in 1986. Over the years, the company has continued to evolve, expanding facilities, investing in advanced equipment and shifting toward higher-value finished products while continuing to support manufacturers with printed sublimation paper and technical know-how.
“For us, this merger is about focus and momentum,” said Donray principal Ray Ferriola, who will continue leading Donray’s printing operations within LBU. “Sublimation is a technical craft. It’s about understanding materials, color, consistency and scale. By joining LBU, we’re combining that deep printing knowledge with their production strength and infrastructure. Together, we can deliver faster turnarounds, tighter quality control and more complete solutions for customers who want everything handled in one place. As we have done for the past 40 years, we will, of course, continue to supply quality sublimation paper to our customers spread over a myriad of industries and products to aid in their manufacturing processes.”
Faster Production, Turnaround Times
Looking ahead, according to the two companies, the merger will mean:
- Expanded in-house sublimation capacity with proven, state-of-the-art printing equipment
- Faster production timelines by eliminating handoffs between print vendors and manufacturers
- Greater consistency and quality control from print through finished product
- A true one-stop shop for customers seeking design, printing, sewing, finishing, and fulfillment under one U.S. based operation
