Momentec Brands Tech-Enhanced Performance Center Fully Operational

Published: July 7, 2026

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Momentec Brands, a leading provider of stock and custom sportswear, has now consolidated all its brands into a single new, state-of-the-art Performance Center in Kannapolis, North Carolina. According to the company, the massive 755,000-square-foot technology-heavy facility marks a major operational milestone by successfully unifying five legacy distribution centers in one location.

A singular high-performance sports apparel distribution center

“By shifting from a fragmented network to a singular high-performance distribution center, Momentec is replacing regional geographic silos with a hyperefficient, predictive ecosystem,” company says.  “This unified distribution center is designed to serve customers with improved speed and accuracy and deliver in-stock orders in one shipment.

“Operating five disparate facilities inherently brought logistical friction—duplicated inventory pools, varying transit times, and fragmented tracking data. The new consolidated Performance Center eliminates these bottlenecks entirely,” said Karl Buchanan, chief operating officer at Momentec Brands. “From fulfillment to decoration, from kitting to shipping, this is where it all connects at Momentec.”

Per the company, the “heartbeat” of the new Momentec facility can be found in its integration of advanced logistics and automated intelligence with an eye toward elevating Momentec to a fully connected system built for speed, accuracy and scalability.

Automation includes robots, ‘intelligent picking ecosystems

Among the new systems being implement are a number of “Intelligent Picking Ecosystems,” incorporating a range of Radio Frequency (RF) and voice-directed picking solutions in conjunction with over 170 Locus Picking Robots.

The facility also features a number of dedicated “technical zones” created to better execute such advanced value-added services as automated co-packing, precision labeling, module assembly and serial-coded electronic compliance checking.
