S&S Activewear has introduced new digital shopping tools designed to help customers more easily identify responsibly produced apparel and accessories across its product catalog.
The technology-enabled distributor announced enhancements to its online customer experience that allow users to filter products by recognized sustainability certifications and material attributes, making environmental and sourcing information more visible throughout the purchasing process.
According to the company, the update is intended to create a more transparent shopping experience for decorators, promotional product distributors, and branded merchandise buyers seeking products aligned with specific sustainability goals.
New Product Filters Improve Sustainable Apparel Search
The updated S&S Activewear platform now includes product filters that allow customers to search hundreds of products based on certification and material standards.
Available certification-based filters include:
- OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
- bluesign®
- Fair Labor Association
Customers can also filter products by material attributes, including:
- Organic cotton
- Recycled cotton
- Recycled polyester
- Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton
- U.S. cotton
The company says these updates provide a clearer framework for how responsible products are categorized, giving customers greater visibility into sourcing and manufacturing standards while simplifying product discovery.
“We heard from customers a desire for transparency and easy access to information about mill certifications and product materials,” said Alaina Brooks, chief legal officer at S&S Activewear, who helps oversee the company’s sustainability initiatives. “These enhancements reflect our focus on the customer experience by providing the tools, transparency, and clarity customers need to shop with confidence.”
Sustainability Transparency Becomes a Bigger Buying Factor
As decorators and apparel buyers increasingly field customer questions about sourcing, certifications, and material composition, distributors are placing greater emphasis on making sustainability information easier to access during product selection.
Rather than requiring users to independently research certifications or material claims, S&S is integrating those attributes directly into its shopping experience to streamline decision-making.
The new filters also support faster movement from product discovery to purchase, helping customers align sourcing decisions with internal sustainability requirements or client expectations.
S&S Continues Broader Sustainability Initiatives
The company says the product discovery enhancements are part of its larger sustainability strategy.
S&S Activewear noted its renewable energy infrastructure includes one of the largest privately operated solar networks in the industry. The company also plans to release its 2025 Sustainability Report in the fourth quarter of 2026, outlining additional progress, initiatives, and long-term priorities.
For apparel decorators, promotional product distributors, and branded merchandise buyers, the platform enhancements reflect growing demand for practical sustainability transparency rather than broad environmental claims.
