Coats Group plc and Tajima Industries Ltd. have entered into a strategic partnership designed to advance innovation, quality, and productivity across the global embroidery industry. The collaboration combines Coats’ embroidery threads, technical advisory services, and global support network with Tajima’s embroidery machinery, intelligent automation technologies, and digital software platforms to deliver integrated solutions for embroidery manufacturers.
The companies signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation on July 9 at Tajima Industries’ headquarters in Aichi, Japan.
Combining Thread, Machinery and Technical Expertise
At the center of the partnership is Coats’ global network of Embroidery Service Centres (ESCs), which will serve as innovation hubs equipped with Tajima embroidery systems. The centers will support product development, customer testing, training, and collaborative innovation while helping manufacturers optimize embroidery quality and production efficiency.
The companies say the collaboration will support customers from concept through production by combining premium embroidery consumables with advanced embroidery equipment and digital workflow technologies.
“Embroidery is a specialised, premium segment where quality and consistency are critical to protecting brand value,” said Adrian Elliott, group commercial officer at Coats. “By partnering with Tajima, we can deliver unique, value-adding solutions that support customers from design through to production.”
Integrated Technologies for Modern Embroidery Production
The joint offering will incorporate several of Tajima’s embroidery technologies, including i-TM (Intelligent Thread Management), DCP (Digitally Controlled Presser Foot), and the company’s PulseID, Pulse IQ, and DG software platforms. Combined with Coats’ high-performance embroidery threads and technical consulting services, the companies say the partnership is intended to improve stitch quality, increase productivity, and simplify production of increasingly complex embroidery designs.
