ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — STAHLS’ has introduced its online Patch Selector Tool, designed to help apparel decorators identify compatible patch and emblem options before placing an order.
The tool allows customers to upload artwork once and evaluate its compatibility across 18 patch types, including embroidered, woven, PVC, debossed leather, FlexStyle and Liquid 3D options.
Based on the submitted design, the tool identifies which products are ready to order, which may require artwork adjustments and which are incompatible with the design. This allows customers to explore multiple decoration options without submitting their artwork separately for each patch type.
Evaluating Artwork Across 18 Patch Types
Different patch materials and production methods have varying requirements for artwork details, colors and design complexity.
STAHLS’ developed the Patch Selector Tool to help customers understand those differences earlier in the ordering process.
For example, a design containing fine details or multiple colors may be suitable for certain patch types but require modifications for others. The tool identifies potential compatibility issues and highlights adjustments that could make additional options available.
By comparing multiple patch types using a single artwork upload, decorators can evaluate alternatives while considering the appearance they want to achieve.

Streamlining Patch Selection and Ordering
The Patch Selector Tool is intended to reduce the back-and-forth communication often associated with artwork reviews and product compatibility questions.
Rather than waiting until an order is submitted to discover that a design requires changes, customers can review potential limitations upfront.
This process can help apparel decorators make more informed product selections, identify suitable decoration methods and move eligible orders toward production more efficiently.
The tool also gives customers an opportunity to discover patch and emblem options they may not have previously considered.
Supporting Custom Apparel Decoration
For screen printers, embroiderers and other apparel decorators, patches and emblems offer additional ways to customize garments, headwear, bags and promotional merchandise.
Selecting the appropriate patch construction can be important when reproducing detailed logos, intricate graphics and other branded designs.
By providing artwork compatibility guidance across multiple patch types, STAHLS’ aims to simplify that decision-making process and help customers select products suited to their artwork.
The Patch Selector Tool is now available through STAHLS’.
