IRVINE, Calif. — Roland DG is broadening its reach into industrial digital printing with a new portfolio of direct-to-object and industrial UV printing solutions designed to support manufacturers seeking faster, more flexible decoration workflows.
Previewed as part of the company’s strategic industrial market expansion, the new offerings include the VersaObject IO-300 industrial UV flatbed printer, the VersaObject RC-300 Series cylindrical UV printers, and a newly developed Hard UV Ink formulated for durability in demanding industrial applications.
The products are currently in preview and are expected to launch in the second half of 2026.
Roland DG Targets Industrial Digital Manufacturing Growth
Roland DG says the expanded portfolio reflects rising demand for digital production technologies that enable on-demand manufacturing, mass customization, and shorter production cycles.
“Industrial manufacturers are increasingly looking for ways to improve flexibility and responsiveness while maintaining quality and durability,” said Kevin Shigenoya, executive officer, new business office, Roland DG.
For decorators and industrial print providers, the move signals Roland DG’s intent to extend beyond its traditional commercial graphics and personalization footprint into heavier industrial production applications.
VersaObject IO-300 UV Flatbed Printer Targets Industrial Applications
The new VersaObject IO-300 is a B2-size industrial UV flatbed inkjet printer designed for high-mix, low-volume production.
According to Roland DG, the system is intended to help bridge analog and digital workflows by enabling rapid design changes while maintaining consistent output across a broad range of substrates, including:
- Plastics
- Metals
- Glass
- Composite materials
Target applications include industrial parts decoration, control panels, housings, nameplates, and functional components.
For decorators, this could create crossover opportunities in industrial branding, hard goods decoration, and specialty production.
RC-300 Cylindrical UV Printer Supports Direct-to-Object Decoration
Roland DG also previewed the VersaObject RC-300 Series, a line of cylindrical UV printers designed for direct printing onto bottles, containers, drinkware, promotional products, and specialty packaging.
The company says the systems are aimed at short runs, premium customization, and faster setup compared to traditional decoration workflows.
A second model, the RC-300c, is designed specifically for printing on clear and translucent cylindrical products without requiring filled containers—an attractive option for beverage brands and packaging decorators.
New Hard UV Ink Designed for Industrial Durability
Roland DG’s industrial push also includes a newly developed Hard UV Ink, designed for applications where durability has traditionally required analog printing methods.
The ink is expected to support:
- Industrial components
- Electronic markings
- Functional labels
- Durable nameplates
- Long-wear product decoration
That durability focus positions the portfolio well for manufacturers balancing customization with production reliability.
