Summa has launched its new F Series Vantage flatbed cutter, a next-generation digital finishing solution engineered to accelerate production workflows for sign shops, print service providers, and industrial finishing operations.

The new cutter is designed to address rising labor costs, tighter margins, and workflow inefficiencies by combining faster cutting speeds, expanded tooling, intelligent automation, and open workflow integration.

Built for Faster Digital Finishing Workflows

According to Summa, the F Series Vantage can deliver up to 40% productivity gains, helping shops reduce bottlenecks from setup through final execution.

The company says improvements go beyond raw cutting speed. New motion control architecture, automated blade recognition, and a redesigned media thickness sensor are intended to streamline setup, reduce manual adjustments, minimize tool swaps, and improve edge quality.

“Everything about the F Series Vantage is built for speed and flow,” said Randi Kerkaert, Summa product manager. “Every choice, from firmware architecture to tool design, eliminates friction.”

Expanded Material Versatility for Growing Shops

As decorators and print businesses expand into rigid substrates and higher-margin specialty applications, Summa positioned the new system as a platform for diversification.

The F Series Vantage features Summa’s largest tool library to date, including:

  • 3.7kW high-frequency router
  • Fast+ tangential module
  • Core+ tangential module
  • Rigid material cutting tools
  • High-precision cutout tools

The expanded tooling is designed to support a broader range of substrates, including rigid materials like aluminum, helping businesses move beyond traditional finishing applications.

Open Architecture Supports Existing Production Environments

A major focus of the launch is workflow flexibility.

Rather than forcing customers into proprietary systems, Summa says the F Series Vantage was designed with an open ecosystem that integrates with existing automation infrastructure, feeders, stackers, analytics tools, and production workflows.

“With GoConnect and GoData, the F Series Vantage becomes part of your ecosystem,” said Kristof Tilleman, software development manager at Summa.

That integration strategy could appeal to larger operations seeking automation upgrades without replacing existing workflow investments.

Operator-Friendly Design Prioritizes Ease of Use

Summa also emphasized usability, positioning the system as accessible for shops facing staffing challenges or training constraints.

According to the company, operators can learn the system in under an hour using Summa’s GoProduce software, aided by features like:

  • One-click Action Sets
  • LED visual workflow feedback
  • Simplified installation
  • Automated setup recognition

The goal is faster onboarding with fewer production slowdowns.

Safety Built Into Production

The F Series Vantage also introduces an updated safety ecosystem aimed at reducing shop floor incidents involving moving equipment.

Summa says the built-in safety design helps protect operators while minimizing downtime—an increasingly important factor for production environments balancing throughput with labor safety requirements.

The new F Series Vantage is available immediately in 1612 and 1625 configurations.
