- BELLA+CANVAS executive vice-president, Megan Spire, will continue to lead the company
Leading premium blank apparel manufacturer BELLA+CANVAS has agreed to be acquired by SanMar Corporation, one of the nation’s leading wholesale suppliers of imprintable apparel, headwear and accessories, based in Issaquah, Washington.
According to BELLA+CANVAS, the company will continue to operate as an independent brand under the leadership of executive vice president Megan Spire.
What Does the Merger Do for BELLA+CANVAS?
Per the two companies: “What this moment creates is an opportunity for BELLA+CANVAS to accelerate with greater focus and scale. Under SanMar’s ownership, BELLA+CANVAS will continue to operate independently, with the benefit of long-term investment, industry expertise, and operational infrastructure while maintaining the creative autonomy and clear point of view that have always defined the brand.”
In this same vein, Danny Harris, co-founder of BELLA+CANVAS said, “As we looked for the right next chapter, it was critical to find an owner that would champion the brand’s DNA and build on what has made it a leader; delivering the highest-quality fashion blanks with manufacturing integrity and an unwavering ethos of being different. SanMar believes deeply in this brand and is uniquely positioned to support its growth through inventory depth, service, and operational excellence.”
How will the Merger Affect SanMar, BELLA+CANVAS?
“BELLA+CANVAS has always operated with a simple conviction: the people who print, decorate and sell our products deserve the best blank apparel in the world,” agreed Spire. “That belief is not changing. With focused ownership and additional investment behind the brand, we will be able to bring more newness, more innovation, and an even stronger commitment to the partners who make BELLA+CANVAS what it is while staying true to who we’ve always been. I have never been more excited to lead this brand.”
Similarly, according to SanMar CEO Jeremy Lott, “As the fashion leader in the industry, BELLA+CANVAS has earned the trust and respect it holds today. Our commitment is simple: give BELLA+CANVAS the focused ownership and resources it needs to keep doing what it does best and to deliver even more of what the market expects from this exceptional brand.”
The two companies went on to emphasize the fact BELLA+CANVAS products will continue to be sold through authorized wholesale distributors nationwide. The brand’s full product assortment anchored by signature fabrics, fashion-forward fits, and rigorous quality standards will also continue without interruption.
