HIGH POINT, N.C. — Arcus Printers has introduced the Monarch FB1218 UV Flatbed Printer System with Rotary Attachment, a compact industrial-quality printing system designed to expand the range of rigid, flexible and dimensional products businesses can produce.

The Monarch FB1218 prints directly onto rigid substrates and flexible media and supports UV DTF production with optional accessories. An optional vision-scanning system also enables template-free printing and automated object recognition.

Monarch FB1218 Expands UV Printing Applications

The Monarch FB1218 can print directly onto materials including acrylic, wood, glass, metal, PVC and leather, giving decorators and print businesses access to applications ranging from promotional products and signage to personalized hard goods.

An integrated rotary unit extends those capabilities to cylindrical objects, including customized drinkware and other specialty products.

The system also supports dimensional and textured effects, while an optional Arcus Soft-Flex UV inkset can be used to produce raised, silicone-like patches for textile applications.

“The Monarch FB1218 brings industrial-level UV printing capabilities to print shops in a compact, versatile system,” says Brian Belk, managing director at Axiom America, parent company of Arcus Printers.

According to Belk, options including vision recognition, roll-to-roll capability and the integrated rotary unit allow print businesses to configure the equipment around their individual production requirements.

Vision Scanning Supports Template-Free Printing

For businesses producing batches of smaller objects or products with variable positioning, Arcus offers its optional Vision Scan Camera.

The technology provides automated object recognition for applications requiring precise placement and print positioning. Combined with template-free printing, the feature is designed to streamline setup when decorating multiple objects on the printer bed.

Compact UV Printer Targets Production Flexibility

Despite its range of applications, the Monarch FB1218 is designed around a relatively compact footprint.

The printer features an 11.8-by-18.7-inch printing area and accommodates objects up to 3.5 inches high. Overall dimensions are 35.6 inches long by 25.2 inches wide by 26.3 inches high, allowing the equipment to fit through a standard doorway.

Production speeds reach up to 13.4 square feet per hour in Production Mode and 8 square feet per hour in Precision Mode.

The printer uses an Epson I3200 A1 HD eight-channel print head and a six-color configuration consisting of CMYK, white and varnish. The varnish channel supports specialty finishes in addition to standard color reproduction.

ArcusLink machine-control software is included for remote diagnostics and service.

“Businesses today need equipment that can do more without making their production environment more complicated,” Belk says. “The Monarch FB1218 gives customers a flexible platform that can handle everyday production as well as specialty applications, with the ability to add capabilities as their business evolves.”
