New York Apparel Manufacturer Enters Contract with U.S. Military

Sportsmaster Apparel, Troy, N.Y., recently entered a $7.5 million contract to make jackets for the U.S military, according to the Albany Business Review. 

The apparel manufacturing company won a bid to make as many as 24,000 jackets a year for the next five years for the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.

Under the contract, Sportsmaster Apparel will receive funds from the Defense Logistics Agency over the next five years to cover material, overhead and labor costs. Production will begin in the next two months.

Sportsmaster Apparel will use its existing machinery to produce the jackets, which will be 100% American-made and will feature a removable liner with a weather-proof shell.
