SHENZHEN, China — EraSmart has introduced its A1 and A2 fluorescent direct-to-film (DTF) printers, expanding its equipment lineup with systems designed to produce UV-reactive graphics for custom apparel, event merchandise and other textile applications.
The printers combine conventional CMYK colors, fluorescent inks and white ink to create heat-applied designs that respond to ultraviolet blacklight. The technology is intended for apparel customization studios, print service providers and event merchandise producers seeking specialty decoration effects.
Potential applications include music festival T-shirts, stage costumes, themed apparel, promotional merchandise and other garments designed for environments with specialized lighting.
Fluorescent DTF Printing Adds New Creative Possibilities
Unlike traditional glow-in-the-dark materials, which may continue emitting light after illumination ends, fluorescent inks require an appropriate light source to produce their distinctive visual effect.
EraSmart’s fluorescent DTF technology allows decorators to incorporate UV-reactive colors into selected portions of a design, including lettering, logos and graphic elements.
Under suitable UV blacklight, the fluorescent areas become more pronounced, creating effects suited to concerts, nightlife events, performances and themed merchandise.
The process follows a conventional DTF workflow. Artwork is printed onto PET transfer film using color, fluorescent and white inks. Hot-melt adhesive powder is then applied and cured before the design is transferred onto compatible fabric using a heat press.
The company recommends evaluating physical samples under both ordinary lighting and the intended UV lighting conditions to ensure the finished appearance meets customer expectations.
A1 and A2 Printers Offer Different Production Widths
Both models feature dual printheads, combining an I3200HD and I1600, and support CMYK, fluorescent and white ink configurations.
The A1 offers a maximum printing width of 620 mm, approximately 24.4 inches, making it suitable for larger garment graphics or multiple smaller transfers arranged across the printable area. Its listed production speed is 1.5-2 square meters per hour at eight passes.
The A2 provides a maximum printing width of 450 mm, approximately 17.7 inches, with a listed production speed of 1-1.5 square meters per hour at eight passes. The narrower format is intended for customization studios evaluating fluorescent designs within a more compact printing area.
Both printers support roll and sheet PET transfer film, automatic printhead cleaning and timed white ink circulation.
The systems also require dedicated software configured for fluorescent printing, rather than the standard software configuration used for conventional CMYK-and-white DTF printers.
Specialty Transfers Target Event and Promotional Merchandise
EraSmart is positioning the fluorescent systems for apparel businesses looking to offer distinctive graphics for events, entertainment and branded merchandise.
In addition to T-shirts and performance apparel, potential applications include compatible canvas bags and other textile accessories.
However, the company emphasizes the importance of testing fabric compatibility, transfer adhesion, wash resistance and long-term color performance before beginning production.
Final results can vary depending on the fluorescent ink formulation, white ink underbase, fabric, transfer settings and lighting conditions.
“We founded EraSmart to help more people turn their ideas into tangible, useful products,” said Henry Xu, founder of EraSmart. “Through easy-to-use printing equipment, supporting tools, and ongoing technical support, we aim to help creators and small businesses take the first step—from making their first piece to gradually building their own customization business.”
