Richard Childress Racing Boosts NASCAR Wrap Production with Roland DG TrueVis XP-640 Printers

RCR Graphics Center relies on high-speed wide-format printing technology to produce NASCAR vehicle wraps, team branding graphics and promotional displays under tight deadlines

IRVINE, Calif.—Roland DGA highlighted how NASCAR powerhouse Richard Childress Racing is using high-speed wide-format printing technology to streamline race car wrap production and branding graphics throughout the 2026 racing season.

According to Nick Woodward, graphics center manager for Richard Childress Racing (RCR), the team designed, produced and installed more than 300 vehicle wraps last year alone, in addition to transport vehicle graphics, promotional signage, displays and other branded elements.

High-Speed NASCAR Wrap Production

The RCR Graphics Center, founded in 2010, operates out of a 7,800-square-foot facility in Welcome, North Carolina, with a staff of eight full-time employees.

To keep up with demanding production schedules, the shop recently added two Roland DG TrueVis XP-640 64-inch wide-format printers. According to Woodward, the printers provide increased speed without sacrificing image quality or color vibrancy.

“The XPs are great for speed, and importantly, the additional speed doesn’t cause any sacrifice in quality or color vibrance,” Woodward said. “We run both machines almost around the clock each day and have had smooth and consistent production and high reliability.”

Color Accuracy and Branding Flexibility

Woodward said image detail and color consistency are critical because many wraps feature complex graphics and sponsor branding. He noted the addition of red ink within the printer configuration has been especially beneficial for RCR’s graphics workflow.

“It seems like everything we print at RCR has red and black in the design,” Woodward said. “The red ink also helps us build other CMYK colors better.”

Many of the team’s 2026 NASCAR wrap designs are new, while others feature refreshed branding and sponsor imagery. Featured vehicles this season include Austin Dillon’s No. 3 car, Kyle Busch’s No. 8 car, Jesse Love’s No. 2 car and Austin Hill’s No. 21 car.

Fast Turnarounds for Race-Day Graphics

In addition to race car wraps, the RCR Graphics Center produces graphics for haulers, pit equipment, helmet wraps, pit wall banners and in-car camera branding.

Woodward said production speed is one of the shop’s most important factors because turnaround times are often measured in hours rather than days.

“We have days where we print in the morning and wrap the car in the afternoon,” Woodward said. “The amazing thing about the TrueVis XP printers is they allow us to maximize productivity without sacrificing image quality and color accuracy.”
