Bourbon, Mo. — Ted Karras, center for the Cincinnati Bengals and co-founder of Cincy Hats, an official partner of Imperial Headwear, has been named the Bengals’ 2025 Walter Payton Man of the Year Club winner.
Karras was selected as the team’s nominee on December 4, marking his second nomination for the league’s most prestigious off-the-field honor. The Walter Payton Man of the Year Award recognizes NFL players who demonstrate exceptional commitment to philanthropy and community impact, alongside excellence on the field. The league-wide recipient will be announced at the NFL Honors ceremony on February 5, 2026.
Headwear with a Mission
Through Cincy Hats, Karras collaborates closely with Imperial Headwear to curate headwear collections sold worldwide, with proceeds benefiting his adopted charity, Village of Merici. The Indianapolis-based nonprofit provides support services and independent living opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
Village of Merici serves individuals and families across Indianapolis and surrounding counties, offering individualized services as well as affordable supportive housing through communities such as Merici Village Apartments, North End Apartments, and its newest development, The Brunette. These housing options are designed to promote independent, self-directed living while fostering a sense of belonging often difficult to achieve through traditional programs.

Imperial Headwear works alongside co-founders Ted Karras, Matt Renie, and the entire Cincy Hats team to produce high-quality headwear in support of this philanthropic initiative.
