Penn Emblem Company announced it has received a 2026 NAUMD Innovation Award for its Glow-in-the-Dark Silicone emblem technology.

The award-winning Centurion FR Silicone on Glow-in-the-Dark emblem was recognized for combining advanced silicone molding, intricate raised detailing, and functional low-light visibility into a single decoration solution.

Penn Emblem Pushes Silicone Emblem Innovation Forward

According to the NAUMD, the innovation “pushes the frontier of emblem design” by pairing detailed FR logo artistry with glow-in-the-dark silicone functionality. The organization also recognized the emblem’s micro-detail, raised elements, and precision lettering, calling it “a compelling identification solution that performs beautifully in all conditions, day or night.”

Why Silicone Emblems Continue Growing in Decorated Apparel

Silicone emblems have become one of the fastest-growing decoration solutions in the apparel industry due to their dimensional appearance, durability, flexibility, and modern aesthetic. Penn Emblem’s latest development expands on that trend by incorporating glow-in-the-dark performance while maintaining premium detail and finish quality.

“We’re truly grateful to be recognized with the Innovation Award,” said Rich Hirsh while accepting the award on behalf of Penn Emblem Company. “Silicone has been dominating the emblem market for the past few years, so our goal was to take it to the next level. Seeing it go from concept to a finished product, and now to this stage, is incredibly rewarding for our whole team.”

Collaboration and Manufacturing Expertise Drive Product Innovation

The company said the project was the result of collaboration across multiple departments, including design, development, production, and manufacturing.

“Innovation like this doesn’t happen alone,” Hirsh added. “It’s the result of collaboration across design, production, and everyone behind the scenes who helped push the idea forward and refine it every step of the way.”

Penn Emblem’s silicone emblems and transfers are engineered to provide a modern, elevated appearance while maintaining durability in demanding environments. The products feature embossed 3D dimension, raised detailing, waterproof flexibility, and long-lasting wear resistance for applications across uniforms, promotional products, footwear, bags, and branded apparel.

New Silicone Decoration Technology Expands Apparel Applications

The Glow-in-the-Dark Silicone emblem represents the latest advancement in the company’s silicone decoration lineup, combining visibility, functionality, and premium branding into one solution.

“We’re proud of what this represents for our company, and even more excited about where it can go from here as we continue to explore new ways to elevate decorated apparel,” the company shared.

Penn Emblem said it plans to continue developing new decoration technologies for the uniform and promotional products industries.
