Printing Industries of America Names Education Award Recipient

Published: September 25, 2012

Printing Industries of America, Pittsburgh, recently named Art Lindauer, an instructor at Venice High School in Los Angeles, as the academic recipient of the 2012 Education Award of Excellence.

Printing Industries of America established the Education Awards of Excellence as a way to recognize that the success of graphic arts education and training programs depends heavily on those dedicated to teaching.

The association is recognizing Lindauer for his many achievements, including his work toward receiving a $3 million State Proposition ID CTE Grant and a 21st Century Learning Grant between Venice High School and the Venice Boys & Girls Club for an after-school club. He also is in the finishing stages of instituting PrintED, which is administered by the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF) and is a national accreditation program. Once this process is complete, Venice High will be the only high school in California to offer this accreditation process for its students.

Lindauer will be presented with the 2012 Printing Industries of America Education Award of Excellence at the 2012 GASC/Printing Industries of America Teacher’s Conference at GRAPH EXPO, which will be held Oct. 7 in Chicago.
