Visual Impressions Facility Earns SGP Certification

Published: April 9, 2013

Visual Impressions Inc.
, Milwaukee, recently announced that its 100,000-square-foot apparel decorating facility has earned Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) certification.

Visual Impressions is among 49 sites in the United States to have achieved SGP status, and is the only currently certified apparel decorator.

To earn certification, Visual Impressions implemented a strategic program based on SGP’s criteria. The company established a sustainability committee focused on a first-year goal of energy reduction. Follwing the theme “Reduce, Reuse & Recycle,” the company sought to make improvements in three major areas: the production materials, the printing process and the entire facility.

In the first year of participating in the SGP program, Visual Impressions reduced its energy spending by 17.82%. The company also is participating in two Milwaukee sustainability programs: ME2 and ME3. See the above video for more information on these programs.
